I just installed one for my dad's 05 MR. My dad called Vishnu and they told him it would fit the stock exhaust with no mods and take about an hour, NOT. No way in hell would that thing fit on the stock 05 MR exhaust. They lied just to sell the product, which is dishonest. It took us about 3 hours on a lift at my friends shop to properly customize all the parts to fit. Luckily, he has all the tools to cut metal and fabricate parts, otherwise it would not have worked and cost atleast $300 to install at a shop, if they could do it at all. On Astroevo's pictures there is a piece missing that covers the exhaust because it doesn't fit. I have some really bad pictures of the parts we had to fab and cut if you guys want me to post them. Also, it comes with no instructions and the design has some serious flaws IMO from what I have seen on real race cars and know about rear diffusers. But I think it's my dads fault for buying it before seeing it in person on someones car. It's made me think twice about getting the HKS diffuser for my sti.

more of a real diffuser as opposed to the faux one on the IX. but IX looks more pimp. Really not much of an issue unless you are going more than 120 m.p.h. but then so is my VG!.

Just for kicks, how difficult to you think it'd be to make your own custom piece? I mean, if you're just trying to smooth up the air coming off the bottom of the car and reduce parachuting, wouldn't you be able to just cut a piece of sheet metal in the right shape and just forget about the fins?

The vishnu diffuser is a great piece, I like how its really 'race' but yet it's very subtle at the same time. I don't know why it wouldn't fit your stock exhaust as this piece was designed for the stock and vishnu series exhausts.

If you were to get the Varis diffuser that would cost over 1500 dollars since you have to purchase the jdm rear bumper as well. Carbon is real trick and all, but aluminum is a bit more practical as it bends rather than shatters. And yes you do have to be carefull when backing up haha. I'll post pics if I have time.

Hey ASTROEVO, do you have particular reason why you chose to set your fins that way? I did mine the opposite.

PS: I might be selling my vishnu rear diffuser in the near future as i'm planning to get a jdm evo 8 rear bumper, and possible evo 7 front end. PM me if you are interested, catch is that you have to be in california and have a weightless white bumper :P. I'm looking for a bumper swap+cash so that the next owner won't have to drill holes in their bumper.

Richard

If you end up just selling the Vishnu diffuser by itself I'll take it.

Here it is on their car at SEMA.

You can see (better) the position that the muffler sits in and the route the exhaust piping takes in order for the cover to fit.
