Craftsman Orbital Buffer/Polisher

I bought a cordless model today and was wondering if anyone could give me any tips on how to use it properly to buff out the polish and wax. I heard some horror stories, so any tips would be appreciated.

Also I like to use meguiars 3 step process, cleaner, polish, and wax system. I have like 2 bottles of liquid wax, should I use paste instead since I would be using the electric buffer

try wax only for the first time. only use the polish if you still see the scratches. make sure that your polish is intended for machine use!

If you're going to use a polisher for the first time, tape the points and edges until you learn to control it. It can heat the paint and cause big damage.

I use Nglantz polish and wax. Afterwards I do a once over with a detail spray and micro fiber cloth. You might want to strip all your old wax with dawn soap. Be extra careful using the porter cable, Do not exceed 3500 rpms unless your rdy to shell out big bucks for a paintjob. Have fun.

No...go to Lowes and pick up a Porter Cable 7336 and get a pad kit from www.exceldetail.com...don't waste your money on crap products if you truley want to polish your paint.

hkfeet: I use Poorboy's SSR's and will be using the Menzerna line soon as it is alreayd here. I also have Klasse AIO which is a greta cleaner polish. As for wax, I have Pinnacle Souveran, Natty's Paste Wax, Meguiar's NXT Paste and Liquid, and as for synthetics I have Zaino, and Poorboy's EX-P.

Use 3M products they will give ur paint look like Brand new!

Use perfect III rubbing compund for swirl or stratches, glaze then Polish.. use by Buffing Dewalt or Mikita buffer at 1200rpm contorl. It will look sweet if u do right...

use common sense, keep everything grit free, apply light pressure, do not keep the machine on one spot
