blacked out headlights
blacked out headlights
I am curious, do any of you with blacked-out headlight housings (evodave style) have any issues with headlight brightness? It seems like there would be quite a bit of lost light there. This is in reference to non-HID headlights.
Since the OEM headlight housings use projectors, there is no need for any reflective material to reflect the light onto the road. (Except for the high beams which do not get panted when doing this modification.)
The projector lens handles all of the light dispersion and there should be no loss of brightness. In fact, there might be slightly less glare from the coloring of the non-directional reflective material.
Since the high beams do not use projector lenses, the reflecting section is masked off and not painted when painting the rest of the housing.

I have Evo dave's black out headlights. Didn't notice any difference in brightness at night. Sorry, I don't have any night shots.
