Trunk Springs

I removed both my trunk springs and was wondering how how they suppose to look when bolted back on? I tried bolting it in on the way I thought was before but it doesnt lift the trunk up. I had them crossed over too.

There are 2 holes on each arm. I chose the hole closest to the rear. Could it be the front? Or a mix from front and back holes?

Better yet if someone can help a brother out by taking a picture of the trunk springs where its mounted on each side, that would be very helpful. Thank you

Heres some pics of how I have it setup now, its not lifting the trunk at all this way. In the picture you probably cant see the inner hole. I have the springs hooked on the outer hole towards the rear shown in the pics.

Even though I am at work, I walked out to my car to check this out for ya (I'm not working hard anyway since I am on the net )

By the look of your pics, and the way mine looks, you are close but obviously not there.

Looking at the arms, it seems you have them criss crossed. You need to remove them and switch sides. The spring going to the passengers side trunk arm, should be on the bottom.

Looking at the last picture in your post is why I say you have the arms criss crossed. The end 'U' hook should be going through the hole you have it in (closest hole to the rear of the car) but on the other side of the arm. By other side, I mean that what you have the hook on would be the bottom, and it should be on the top.

I don't have a camera right now, or I would take pictures.

I hope this helps!!!!

What tools did you guys use to get it back on? Even a pipe vice grip did not have enough angle to clear to torsion the bar enough.

you brought this back from the dead, but I just reinstalled mine last night. I simpley used a pair of channel locks and a long screw driver. Insert the bar into the trunk hinge first then you will have to use the screw driver to rotate the spring 90degrees or so until you can get it to lock on the rear deck area. Its pita and took a few tries, but not impossible at all. I was trying to reduce the tension with a torch last night but have not succeded yet.
