It's not a waste of money. I've already made my mind up that I'm going to get one. Its actually more protection versus the plastic undertray. Which to me means less chance that I'll have to replace an oilpan (or worse an engine), IC, IC pipes, and anything else that might catch an obstacle.
Around here we have a lot of big 'ol truck tire chunks laying in the middle of the highway and something to keep the underbelly of your VERY expensive engine and accessories safer seems worth it to me.

Thats kinda funny u said that cuz lastnite i caught a blown tire under the evo cuz i didnt even see it and it rip one driver side off. IM PISSED and imgoing to get one of these.

^The oil change can be done by removing the rear bolt and pushing the underpanel down; however, we found that its easier to remove the rear panel, by detaching the 5 bolts, that holds the rear panel.
