Most people do the front swap because it looks better. Why go buy a nine for looks alone when you can have it for a few hundred bones?

I doubt any of these guys are trying to be posers. They just want their whip to look better.

I just wish the IC was centered in the mouth of the bumper.

omg my head hurts after reading this posing lol

adding badging is bad like a GSR with MR badges, but this is no where near that.

yes i love adding badges.

i have added the MR badge, evo iiv badge for my tail lights and below that i have the evo ix badge too. i have this little sticker that add those up and to evo xvi. i guess my car is really an evo viii also, so i went wrong somewhere in my roman numerals.

i also got a porsche turbo badge, and a vtec one since my other car has vtec... why not.

i got this badge that says hybrid, so i can drive in the carpool lane. then i have my boyscout badge that i got for applying stickers without air bubbles.

for anyone interested in doing this, yes the bumper does come painted, and so does the lip. right now the total cost is about $1300, but in the future im guessing the price of the bumper will go down. i think right now its just this expensive cuz its so new. a brand new 8 bumper is about $400. it probably just bare also, so i imagine in the future doing this ix coversion will cost about $700-800.

the intercooler im running is made by AMS. the next time i take off my bumper, which will be soon, i'll take a picture of the custom aluminum bracket i made to hold up the lower portion of the front grill that holds the mitsu emblem. that was the only part i could/needed to fabricate.

I never thought I would say this, but the front looks hot. Sorry ya gonna have ta get another conversion for that back bumper mate. It just doesn't go well together the way the rear bumper is designed. It was meant for the eight. That's one thing I hate bout the us version of the IX. Any more pics???

that looks really good. i can't really justify evo VIII guys doing IX conversions when VIII guys talk mad **** about lancer guys doing VIII conversions. I don't agree with it but i don't think the *******s that don't like it should condone it for evo guys and not for lancer guys. that looks really sweet tho, basically just becuase i think the IX looks really sweet.

bringing this thread back from the dead... please chime in..

Do you have to remove any front bumper support foam/pads? I bought an 8 with a 9 conversion and I cant see any foam pads around the support beam. I did a safety inspection here in hawaii and I failed because they said I needed it.. thanks
