Exhust pipe makes my white pumper black

I own white 05 evo8 for only 3,000 and the paint around my exhust pipe is starting to look dark gray/ black, on the pumper near the pipe tip. Do you guys have the same problem, particularly white and silver car? What do you think I should do? Take it in and have the pumper repaint? I don't like dealer and don't want to keep my car there.

its pointless to paint it over and over again. just get a exhaust shield or clean the bumper daily

You need the Authority Carbon Fiber Bumper Heat Shield.

I have a silver EVO and after about 500 miles, I got the aforementioned heat shield from LancerShop and I love it.

Both of the shields are urgly, but I might have to get one of them. Any other option beside put on the shield? Had I khown about this problem, I would have gotten the black one. I love both black and white evo equally.

I made my own stainless steel heat shield for about 3 bucks. Just get a piece of thin SS plate and have someone cut the shape of it. Just use cardboard or something similiar first to draw out the size and see how far you want it to stick out. Mine is flush with the rear bumper and you cant really see. My bumper hasnt melted from the hear but it still is a little yellowish from the cat delete exhaust. IMO anything that sticks out of the bumper is ugly...to me its not worth it just to make my bumper cleaner.

Get some crazy Bozoku exhaust, never worry about a dirty bumper again.

I am thinking or have it repaint with thicker paint and clear code. You guys know how thin mitsu paint is on the Evo. Do you think it helps?

jeez man, you should know you can use your white to pumpher black, lol.

in all seriousness though I have the metal shield from lancer shop and I love it. 25$ so its cheap and it wont burn off like the CF ones do after awhile. My car shoots 3-4 ft flames for 3-4 seconds at a time sometimes so I'd burn that pretty CF one right off within a month.
