hey, i started to have similar problem just recently. it's not stuck ALL the time, but once in a while the AC LED stays on eventhough the temp knob is in the max RED and selector knob is on lower + middle vents. after a lil while it turns off. hard to duplicate.

You're right, I just misread. It may have gotten stuck in this mode. When you removed the controls and looked behind, there wasn't anything broken? wire pinched? I know you stated everything looked ok, just confirming.
Did you try resetting the computer? Not sure if it's related, but worth a shot.

I'll look again but I didn't see anything. But then again, when it's turned on MAX A/C the recirc function is also forced on, so maybe that is the problem. I'll check again when I get home from work.
