A carbon fiber IX front bumper and IX rear bumper (with diffuser; OE replica basically) that will fit over US bumper reinforcement? A buddy of mine and I were having a conversation about possibly making a one off set, as he's in the aerospace business, working with honeycomb and autoclaving, so he's enthused about making one. I'd paint over it though, just enough so that you couldn't tell it's CF away from the car, but careful observation upclose would reveal the weaves. Would such a bumper raise some excitement? He's down to make it. I just have to pay for the raw materials. Thoughts?

 

Definately sounds interesting. Especially on my Tarmac black evo8. I'm still trying to picture it in my head. Any way he could do these in other materials? I'm mostly just interested in the rear

 

Well, it's just a one-off I was thinking of making with him. I'm sure he could knock out a fiberglass version, though. I don't know if he would wanna get into trying to sell these things, especially with all the low-priced overseas made stuff that's on the market right now as is.

 

i am not a big fan of carbon fiber bumpers
but i guess if you painted over it , that would make it ok
