I have to agree with Limpshot over here, that is a really really bad design on the car. I like the idea of Gun Metal, but you need to repaint the calibers to somethings besides yellow, Gross....

yea the purple gray mica would be like dark gun metal (darker that Graphite Gray) and would stay with the uk/jdm roots cuz is the color of the uks fq400 and the jdm evo mrs. I think that would be sick.....

When you are deciding a color, choose a color you can live with. The guys on this forum are right, don't go with the basic Mitsu Evo colors, this is def a way you can seperate yourself from the rest. If you choose a bright color, remember, it's bright until the next paint job.

Good luck and keep us posted.

i second that... you should always check the social status of the guy giving advice on the color scheme, if he is a little bit sugary... seek out golds gym and ask them for help

I wholeheartedly agree. Why bother painting it if you are going to make it a stock mitsu color? Granted, it would help your resale value if it is a good paintjob and a legit factory color - BUT - if you are after something that differentiates your car from the pack, then be original. DONT get graphite grey or gunmetal or rally red - DO get something different.

Hell - Eventually, I'll probably paint mine a nice scheme with Orange/Black/Silver - or maybe Pearl White with blue & silver highlights or pinstriping. Got lots of ideas here - just no $$ at the moment.

good luck and be sure to post photos of the work!!

Umm, no. The purple mica is very light, almost silver from some angles. Not even close to as dark as graphite grey pearl, muchless darker

This gets my vote as well, a very hot color IMHO.

i'd say a dark grey...gunmetal, something darker than graphite gray. either that or some shade of blue. arctic blue pearl, or electric blue pearl. all these oranges, and candies just don't belong on EVO's. and neither do those gay *** yellow calipers. glad you're gettin it repainted cuz it's hideous right now.

I agree with this color. If I could afford a paint job, I would do this color or a gunmetal color. Good luck!

The colour of my JDM MR is in a colour whic directly translates to "Purplish Gray Mica Metalic". It's a kind of dark gray and I can't really see any purple at all. It kindda looks like this:

God knows why they call it that in Japanese.

You could also have it in this colour:

im the farthest thing from "pack mentality." if i had the time, and money, i'd build and boost a K20A to 20psi and swap it into the EVO. it would put out more power, and be a more responsive, more powerful, and better engine...but back to the topic. i'm not a fan of flashy bling bling candy paints on anything but escalades, yukon's, 300C's, or some other big body that you'd sit on some dub's. the EVO's a race car, not a slow rolling blingmobile. candy, chrome, and wood don't belong anywhere near an EVO. personally i'd go with a dark gunmetal color, arctic blue pearl, electric blue pearl, fiji blue pearl, or some other gray or blue. that's what I like. that's why i bought a GG IX MR, and i'm painting my accord arctic blue pearl. fck the pack. i like blue and gray.

go with a color that the evo doesnt come in stock, or nothing that will be confused for a stock color by other evo owners. i was considering painting my car and couldnt fully decide on what color I wanted to paint it because I didnt want it to look like another color. Gunmetal is nice but then everyone will think its an MR. paint it something different, but again like the man above, dont paint it anything thats too sparkeley or anything

you need to go with british racing green.. then get some advan RGIIs in gold, all uk badging, and ralliart mirrors. That would look clean and very different.
