how do you clean your car during winter season?

Just had my first hand wash from a local shop for $12.95 (exterior only) this Wed but come Thurs it snowed again and there goes my clean car. I can't stand my car being dirty but it cost a lot to have it cleaned often. I do have a daily driver but I want to drive my Evo as often as I can except drive to work.

How do you guys keep your cars clean during winter w/o spending much?

Thanks!!

my car stays fairly clean but at the cost of frozen toes on cold mornings washing it myself while its raining.

go buy some decent wash, a sponge and bucket. go to town on your car. if you keep it waxed it stays clean longer and cleans up a lot faster.

hate to say it, but..only during the winter, I use touch-less automatic car washers. I only buy the most basic wash with underbody wash..so no wax or clear coat or any of that crap...just water and soap on my car.

It does a decent enough job, you then just have to brave 30 mins and rewax it again. Just do it on a 40 degree day...

Put a few layers of surgical gloves or any rubber gloves (dishwasher gloves) and you'll be set. Keeps your hands dry and toasty.

When the salt starts to really pile on i usually spray it down at the local d.i.y. car wash about once a week, nothing perfect just enough to get rid of the salt, then straight to the garage so the car doesnt freeze.

whenever the temp is around 40* degrees, i take the car out of my garage, do a little hose down and just take a sponge to get rid of the salt...wearing water proof gloves is a MUST. Just don't clean it insanely well since you are bound to hit a puddle of slush and water while driving - hence another dirty car... =/ ...but since im also a volunteer EMT, i can go to the squad house garage and rinse the car with a warm water hose and be warm
