tailight vinyl overlay removal?

What's the best way to remove vinyl overlays? I have had some for a while now, and although I enjoyed them, I want to go back to oem. I thought they would peel off fairly easy, but that's not the case. Is it best to heat them up with a dryer and then peel off? I don't want to make a mess...

I've just gotten a little tired of the 7 look and want to go back to stock. I got rid of my wing with a cf trunk, put the uk badge on there, and now I'm thinking it might look good with the 8 tails

I think some heat, a sharp razor, and a very steady hand should do the trick.

If not doesn't Autozone sell some remover for the window tint. That might work.

thanks 05es - I actually just gone done doing this prior to reading your post. You're right about the heat, but I didn't need anything else. I just heated up an edge and began to peel. As I peeled, I heated the portion of the overlay that was coming off of the light.

Done now, and I think it looks great. I think the 7 tails look good with the oem rear end (wing and all), but the wingless/cf/uk badge combo looks awesome with the 8 tails. Now that the 9 is out, I think we need to have some love for the 8 tails anyway!

I can take some pics if anybody is interested.

A steam buggy(steam machine) will do the trick too.
