Satellite Antenna LOCATION?
are you sirius?
Can you find it?
It's wired from the windshield rubber seal to my door through my dash.
Sirius is great
it never gets old the rap stations play good stuff but they do replay a lot of songs, thats why you can turn to a stand up comedy channel or Howard Stern and call up and swear your head off. On Shade 45(eminems own sirius station) they will have conversations about drugs
and people will call up with funny *** story of guys like smoking sherm sticks and jumping outta a car on the free way..

So al long as you have a signal that doesn't cut out with the antenna inside the car, ther is no reason not to have the antenna inside the car. Please do not confuse this with the people using the FM modulators such as MyFi. That can definately get you a weak or fuzzysignal, since you are using the FM reciever to get the XM signal through the radio. Just needed to get that out there. Thanks,

sorry if my last post seemed rude but i am in the same boat as sgtevoviii i have been in retail for 8 years, 6 of them being in the car audio dept as an installer/ manager. but in the skyfi/skyfi2/myfi menus there is a sat signal meter that tells you your signal strength. why would they waste their time putting that on the unit if it's either signal/no signal?
Having had Alpine NAV & XMSat in my many different vehicles for the last 5-Yrs. And currently having a 05' GMC Denali with factory NAV & XM installed Antenna, a 93' Mercedes with an Add-on on the Roof Antenna and a 05' EVO MR back window edge of Inside Rear deck Antenna.
Personally, I have not noted a really big difference between any of them as they all fade at the same underpasses and shaded hilly areas.
When ever you install any Antenna always think of it as a light bulb and mount it where it would best be seen from outside the vehicle.
(on roof, 1st choice always) except that car washs, snow/ice and the effects of weather are negated by (on rear deck, 2nd choice).

XM represent!!!ok my.02,i work in multi multi million $kribs day in and out but never done car audio except personal vehicles i have the xm connected to the alpine pulsetouch ran thee antenna under plastic leading up to a-pillar then over 2 inchs between dash and glass never goes out
What's with all the hate for those with it mounted inside? I'm not too cheap to have it done "right", I just dont want the thing on my roof. It would take all of about 15 minutes to place it on the roof and for no extra cost at all.
Here are a few older pictures of my Evo. I have Sirius and mounted the antenna on the window side of my rear deck area. The magnet grabs there nicely (also using a piece of 2-sided tape), it allows for the trunk to swing open, and it doesn't ever have to touch my paint.
I had it on my 2G Spyder mounted on the rear deck lid, and when I took it off, there was a ring of surface rust outlining the antenna assembly left on my silver paint. Luckily, it just buffed out, but I decided then that I wanted to avoid moutning this thing on paint if at all possible.
Best of luck!

anyone know if the 2006 EVO radios are satellite ready? that would be easier to swap the radios than the hassle of using the RoadyXT or SkyFi's. I have the RoadyXT in my car currently...for about four days now, and I can't find a good place to put it. The vents suck and I don't want to glue something on my dash. I have the antenna running to the back, so singal strength is good. I am seriously thinking about swapping my radio for something that I can direct wire my satellite radio.
I have a Honda Element that has XM Radio built into the OEM radio. Even has a button that says "XM" on it when you switch from FM stations.

. The roof is where my Roadshop installers mount antennas.
