Satellite Antenna LOCATION?

Can someone here recommend a good location on my EVO for a permanent mount of a satellite radio antenna?

Thanks,

Tim

dropped mine right on the back deck lid inside the car. Never really run into any problems and keeps the antenna off my roof.

I've got mine on the trunk lid real close to the back glass. I got some of the clear bra vinyl and cut it to the shape of the antenna so it doesn't scratch the paint. Since my car is black you barely even notice it.

It's the easiest place to get out of the car. Just run it down the passenger side door sills through the back seat and you're into the trunk. I layed it behind the trunkliner and tied it to the trunk hinges. Then I got these little sticky squares that have a slot for a tie wrap and used those to hold up the rest of the wire.

I have mine at the corner of the roof/windshield on the passenger side, ran the wire up under the window trim and then into the car.. Not only does it look like a perminent installation that is nearly invisible, but I can remove it in a few minutes if I had to.

I put mine in the center of the dash board where the windshield meets. Tuck the wire under the dash. It's very small so you don't even notice it and it never looses signal. Install time was about 20 minutes total.

on the roof will always give you the best signal that not only keeps the radio from cutting out but also sound quality, dont install it the cheap way like most of these guys hard ware it to your current fm module and you will get cd quality sound sound all the time.

Sat Radio Antenna

Being that this is my 3rd satellite radio, I feel qualified to mention this. The satelite radio signal is digital. You either have a perfect signal or no signal at all. There is no weak or fuzzy when it comes to XM. It either comes in or it's completely quiet. Just had to mention that. So al long as you have a signal that doesn't cut out with the antenna inside the car, ther is no reason not to have the antenna inside the car. Please do not confuse this with the people using the FM modulators such as MyFi. That can definately get you a weak or fuzzysignal, since you are using the FM reciever to get the XM signal through the radio. Just needed to get that out there. Thanks,

Tim

As a Mobile Installer for 8 years and been installing sat radio since day 1 think of it this way. How well would your sat dish for tv work inside, channels drop in and out etc... Now in major cites there are repeaters on towers to reproduce your signal, on you dash its fine in those areas becasue of signal strength. try driving out of a major city and you'll wish you had it on the un-abstructed outside. Do it the right way the first time, don't douch bag your install on a 30k plus car to save 10 minutes. Trunk lid is where mine is at, I also have a navi antenna that has to been on the outside so I put them next to each other.
