the only prob i have with metal knobs is they get cooooold in the winter!

They are not a waste of money. The stock one gives an isolated rubbery feel when shifting compared to a good metal knob. I use the Mitsu one and it is a nice improvement. The only other one I have liked better is the greddy one. They key is to get one that has weight to it. Gives it a nice solid feeling which slots into gear very nicely. The light weight ones are not an improvement imo. Yeah, momo, razor, carbon fibre, titanium = waste of money. Oh, also the smaller mitsu and greddy fit in the hand nicer.
