does anyone know if you can get them in white with black numbers during the day that will glow up red at night cause even though i know that i am **** about things but i am wanting all my gauges to match perfectly and i am wanting stewart warner boost, egt, oil press.,aem white uego w/b a/f gauges. with all the stewart warner gauges the numbers are black during the day and face goes black at night and just the numbers glow red at night. i like the stock gauges but since i have alot of trees here where i live and it gets darker from the shade its hard to see black gauges sometimes thats why i am wanting white. if any one knows the answer to this please post .

These appearantly replace the stock gauge faces properly, so there is no backlight to "go bad" per say. It seems to just use the stock backlight, which I assume is white. (filtered red by the stock gauge face)

I'm anxious to get them installed for you guys, but we are going to Chicago in a couple of days for a big motorcycle show, and I'm going to be too busy preparing for the show to get them installed. I'm going to leave the Evo with my mechanic friend over the weekend while we're in Chi-town...maybe I can convince him to slap them in while he's got it.
I'm glad to hear that these aren't "EL" overlays. Post pics ASAP!!!

I'm almost positive that if you order the white faces with red numbers, they will be reddish-black during the day, but not fully dark black. The reason being, the color of the numbers is a result of light passing through a colored section of vinyl. If there is no light source back there, they would be fully black numbers. But, with my 2005 Evo at least, not sure about other years here, the gauges are lit even when the parking lights are off. You can hardly tell it during the day, because the backlighting is so dim compared to daylight, but it may show just a hint of red in your case.

If your gauges don't light up when the parking lights are off, they should be black numbers like you want.

You can see it in a little higher resolution if you go here. It's not bad for a 2-D/flat surface...the real stuff actually has depth and that it what makes it stand out. The gauges far enough back in a dark hole that you shouldn't be able to get close enough to see serious detail or flaws, but it would be nice if they could use actual CF.

Killboy, did you get the gauges installed yet?

I've been itching to buy these but I want to get your feedback first. Let us know how they turn out.
