kenwood or alpine?

hey everyone, I'm looking for a replacement of my stock HU, and I want it to control sirius and iPod...

should I go with alpine stuff or kenwood?

I've never owned either, so the more input you can give me the better.

If you go with alpine DO NOT waste your $$$ on the glide touch crap. I have had it for a few months now and it sucks.

id get an alpine. btu im going to agree with everyone so far. i have the glidebar and its not really user friendly. sure it looks cool but trying to choose something from your ipod doing 85 mph, the slightest bump will move your finger its just a hassle. otherwise its a great headunit. i forget the numbers but anythign below the 9853 is without glidebar... i think 9851?

If you are looking to have sirius and the ipod, pioneer is one of the best.

I have had nothing but problems with the sirius and my ipod. First, satelite will play fine, no probs, everytime I get in the car and start it. Within 5 minutes it cuts out and won't come back until I shut the car off and turn it back on. The ipod controls suck a$$. To search is such a run around, I won't even begin explaining how to b/c it would take about a week. I just use the mix option and keep a particular library of songs together that I know I will like to listen to. Got a separate library for when my girl is in the car and a separate library when the kids are in the car. Although they prefer the disney station...YAHOO!

I would personally go with alpine. Something simple like a 9847 or 9851. I kenwoods are nice too, but I personally dont like their headunits. Their screens on the other hand are badass. I have the 817 and its just amazing.

Classic alpines are the best.

I'd have to agree.

Glide touch and MX (media expander) have been removed on all units except one

However, If you want to go nav for 06 you need one of the touch screen units (~1500) and the nav control unit (~1700)

I agree. It is a PITA to work with that glide touch crap. I did get the 9851 and I love it. I does not have the glide touch and the SQ is very nice.
