I currently have a midrange Kenwood.....and it gets confused when playing MP3s. Sometimes it loses track and takes 1-2 minutes to find its place again.

I am kicking myself in the butt for not going with Alpine in the first place.

how are the ipod controls? I've read that the in HU iPod controls are crap... and scrolling and what not takes forever.
It does take forever to scroll. You have to have playlists so you don't have to scroll through all the artists.

I have an Eclipse headunit personally, but I really wished I had gone with the new Kenwood stuff (nice and user friendly). I am a recovering Alpine fanatic, but the "glide" is not user friendly.

guess i just had bad luck with my alpine hu's. they all either just die,as in don't turn on anymore, won't play cd's,or will only stay on one station. i forget what models they were, but the latest one i had was a mid range 04 model. all my kenwoods have kicked ***. i guess if a trouble free in dash 7.5 in touch screen dvd player sux ***, then mine does

I would go with Alpine. I have had some better head decks in the past and imo Pioneer and Kenwood both suck. I have owned all 3.

Here is a link to the new Alpines coming out http://www.alpine-usa.com/en/product...category=AV_HU I am going with the CDA-9857 whenever it comes out.

I've had Alpine and Pioneer and have always liked my Pioneers better for the price.
