Who's ditching the factory stereo system?

I finally realize that I need to redo the stereo after 600 MI

The stock stereo is better than what i've expected especially form a 14k car. A camry by far has the worst but call me spoiled. I just can't take it anymore

I'm about to order.

Alpine CDA-7897 headset with front Kenwood eXcelon KFC-X178 6-3/4" 2-way Speakers and rear Kenwood KFC-1789ie 6-3/4" 3-way Speakers.

Anybody else changing thier stereo? What's your setup?

EDIT: I think i'm going with the Alpine CDA-9815 since it has more power because i'm not planning to use an external amp. It also has the bass engine pro.

the deck will replaced the day i get the car, speakers will stay... a good deck is good for those of you who just want to listen to some decent driving music, subs and amps are added weight...

my deck of choise is a pioneer DEH-P8400MP

Don't buy the Pioneer from crutchfield. Way too much money.

I was thinking about ordering from
http://www.etronics.com/ pretty good prices but are the brand new and not refurbuished?

RTW EVO, you should really ditch the paper speakers since your going quality on the reciever. I'm going for the exact size of speaker but higher quality. Lots of high end reciever doesn't have built in amps so make sure yours does since your not planning to add an external amp.

Then again, neither am I. Just 4 speaker and a reciever for me

I am not sure about the headunit, but I am getting the Kenwood dual mag speakers, because they are so light, but still sound very nice.
Are there any lightweight head units out there
I'm a weight saving freak.

a quality reciever can sometimes make all the difference... obviously amps and speakers will make a much bigger difference.. but maybe later on down the line, for now i'm just sticken with the receiver i had in my S2000

I'm taking the pioneer dvd/screen out of the car before I trade it in, so I'll just reuse it.

I plan on installing my Alpine EQ, it's a passive EQ(no high power), but when doing so I have to use a high-low converter couse the EQ is RCA input only. Then changing all speakers and adding a 12" sub in the trunk. Can't wait till I have $ to do it, miss my system.
Used to have a lowered S-10 Xtra cab with 3 10"
JL Audio W0's with a Fasgate Punch 200 bridged. You could hear that **** bumpen 2 blocks away!

I'm not sure about what I'm going to replace the deck with but more than likely a Sony Xplode with 52Wx4. I already have a 1000W amp but I'm thinking about getting either a Kicker Solobaric 10 (S10L5) or 12 (S12L5). I'll decide which when I actually get the car.

Im not sure if i will change the head unit from my old car which is the Pioneer 7400MP, or get a new Pioneer or the Alpine 7995. But for bass, i think i will just keep it stock for a while so i can keep the weight low. but if the time comes, then maybe i will get 2 JL W7's or the Kicker SoloBarics. If anyone is in the South Florida area, i can get you some hook-ups down here.
