down it will hit the dash, so they had to put kind of like an insulator on the sides so you won'nt see it sticking out only like an
1/8th of an inch. Overall I'm very happy with it.
I got the same deck...100% tight. The blue will throw people off at first because the gauges are red, but it really matches the seats and rest of the interior.

We need to get some pics of our gunmetal baby

I have a Kenwood CD/MP3 Player with Changeable Illumination, detachable face with security code. I added an Alpine V-Power amp with 350 Watts and an Alpine 10" Subwoofer.

Alpine Setup

I put in an Alpine CDA-7998 with CHA-S634 cd changer (Glove box), molded jl 10w3 sub in trunk, Boston Acoustics Z6 in front, Terk XM Antenna, Alpine 8063 Alarm with timer and 2 JL Amps under seat. Rear speakers removed to let base pass from trunk.

I know it's a performance car so some say why bother with the stereo swap. Well, I enjoy music in my rides .

I have had many fast rides and ALL had great sound. Besides this stock unit is the worst I have experienced in my last 3 cars.

So..today I will be installing a JL Audio 300/4 amp, Alpine CDA9811 H/U, MB Quartz component front speakers, Boston Acoustic 2-way in the rear, and a Sub amp / Sub yet to be selected.

Stock speakers are paper and rated for 15 watts The stereo system sucks!

I will put my money into the stereo and then into mods.

I will not mod this motor till I get a few thousand on it and wait to see if any recall crap comes up first.

You will lose your warranty modding this car and I prefer to wait a bit with a first year car so I do not have to remove things.

Besides, It's a $30 K car. If I was to put more than $5 K in engine mods I might as well go get a ZO6 vette.

i would definitely put a new system in the evo, in fact i just changed the deck to a pioneer 7000cd screen w/ in dash cd, and a p7000r module, it sound so much better with the pioneer unit, but the speakers still need to be replaced.

it sounds real sweet def worth the money! the bass engine pro sounds sweet, of course it works best if you have a subwoofer or two.

Peazoo,

Lots of options available, but we need to know how much you're interested in spending.

Replacing just the stock speakers will have a large impact. Later on, replacing the head unit and adding an amp will improve the sound further.

I would spend the most you can on your front speakers and, for now, leave the rear speakers stock. Turn the fader so most of your sound is coming from the fronts.

What kind of music do you listen to?

All kinds. After researching I was thinking just like you recommended. Coaxials in the front. But what about the stock tweeters? I am willing to spend around 300.00.
