I was in Amman Jordan on my way home from Iraq, And I snapped a picture of this puppy flying by me. I should have gotten him to give me a ride instead of the Taxi cab mini van I was in.

no it was not a mirage, it had a vented hood and everything. I could not get more pics because he took off. I could also hear the turbo.

 

Rear drum brakes = regular lancer/mirage
It's easy to get a hood, badges, whatever you want on it to look like an evo

 

you have to remember the equipment on the vehicles over there in Jordan and most of the middle east is different than here or in japan. I even noticed that in Iraq. Names of vehicles are different too.

 

Hey I lived in the Philippines for 10 years, I have driven one of those.
It was a 1996 Lancer GLXI. They come in 3 trims, GL, GLX and GLXI. Now in Jordan, the model names may be different but by the looks of that Lancer, it looks like what would be a GL in the philippines because of the non-color-keyed door handles and side mirror. That wing is from a GLXI though. Also, by the looks of the trunk, it may be a 98. I didn't want to get into this but I'm just telling you that I've seen so many Lancer-Taxis dressed up as an Evo and that looks very much like the typical ones I saw.

Probably. I wish I could say that I've seen and been in many turbo taxis in the Philippines but sadly, theyre all just riced up.

it is a lancer but not an evo... i used to drive one of those too... it has a 16-valve engine.
