I mounted my SoundStream Reference 500s amplifier under the front passenger seat and built my own box which i put my two Boston Acoustics Pro Series 12's in the trunk mounted with some short bungee cords so i can easily remove the box when i track the car. I'm also running a clarion pro audio deck, ipod, and soon satellite. I still have the stock sub in the car because Mitsubishi decided to save $0.03 by trimming the trunk carpet just around the stock sub. So if you remove it, there is a big bare metal section there. I'm going to replace the floor carpeting with a new piece soon.

Actually trunk space isn't cut 'that' much. I also don't put much in my trunk to begin with and in addition, the box is easily removable in case i need the extra space or to reduce weight.

I can easily lift the box in and out myself. I doubt it weighs more than the extra weight many of the forum members here are carrying around.

Its got over 700 variables you can choose to adjust the color of the screen to match your dash. It also has amazing sound quality, DSP, Sirius, AUX-In, three sets of outputs, screensaver, MP3/WMA/etc playing, 100db sensitivity, and an internal amplifier shutoff to improve output sound quality when using RCA's with external amps.

Combined with the stock Infiniti amp and speakers in the SSL package, it sounds pretty damned good. I'm going to replace my front speakers soon with a set of high end Boston Acoustics components though. The rears are fine since they're only for fill.

The car amazingly has very very few rattles even when the bass is cranked up. I get a little vibration in the rear deck which i'm going to fix by putting a thin cotton layer between the deck cover and the metal underneath. Everything else seems pretty solid in terms of vibration and resonance. Even better than the Audi I had for the past 4 yeras.

But i'm more about sound quality and dynamic sound range than big bass volume. Aside from the addition from added bass range with the subs... you guys wouldn't believe how big of a difference a quality aftermarket deck made with the sound reproduction.

i was going to use two L brackets on the top of the box but after some searching of my garage... i found two bungee straps like i said earlier in this thread used to secure it to the seat back. They're hooked through two eye bolts in the sides of the box.
