STi/Evo Coversion

Hey guys

i am trying to finish my evo 9 exterior mods and am trying to find a carbon fiber hood that is pretty unique, and then i thought, what about using a STi carbon fiber hood? I was wondering if anyone has come across this or has photoshopped anything of the sort.

Personally i think it would make an evo look mean as hell.

i allready have carbon fiber eyebrows, carbonfiber lip, fq-400 wheels, evo ix bumper, tints, and blacked out uk evo 9 badge

give me any thoughts that you guys have!!

Thanks!!

I'm assuming you mean just the STI hood scoop style, not an actual STI hood.

Other than the fact it doesn't fit the car, I think it would be absolutely hideous and completely non functional. You might as well put on of those cowl induction mustang hoods on it. Just my $.02. It's your car though.

not only would it look like hell since the lines wouldnt match up at all, but it would be totaly useless.

also about the fq wheels, there are a few vendors selling them, but i got my team dynamic pro race 1.2 (same wheels) from frisby performance tire . they are anthricite and dont use the stock lugs so they arent exact, but it is the same wheel. you could get the centercaps and paint them gloss black like a few people have done. i got a really good deal compared to what the "authentic wheels" are going for.

As an owner of both, the scoop on the Sti IMO is pretty pointless. I assume we all know that it's meant to direct air to the top mounted i/c (which the evo doesn't have) and some of it is pointed to the turbo to cool it down. Now this sound good to the point when you start to think where the heck it's going after that. Down. Not an aero guy, but wouldn't that cause lift?

Also, the Sti can actually have a rather tall hood cos it's bonnet line is lower. In other words, it has a flatter and lower engine bay. If you stick the same hood on the evo, it will really be in the way perhaps to an extent of being dangerous.

Anyway, Moster does a pretty nice cf hood which looks functional: http://www.monster-sport.com/monster...ood/index.html

varis also does a whole load of Cf bits : http://www.varis.co.jp/japanese/extr.../8/evo8_1u.jpg

Perhaps you already know this, but my point is that there's lots of really good looking cf hood out there, why stick something on the hood that will look a silly and doesn't do anyhting?
