OMG that is the sweetest bike now! How much did you pay if you don't mind sharin. I heard they were gonna be askin an arm and a leg for the new 06 AE's. Congrats man, I'm hopin to pick a 06 R1 up here soon. Won't be a AE though lol but somethin to drive daily and turn the R6 into a track/stunt bike

Insurance on bikes is not that expensive. I was 19(20 now) when I bought my R6 and I got full coverage for $49 a month...gotta love when your family knows the agent and you've done business with them for 20+ years. And everyone in the family has a clean record except me lol. No tickets on mine yet so far...ran before though plenty

 

I got it for 10,800 otd. You may be getting it confused with the "limited edition", I have the "special edition." Its just the regular 06 R1 with the anniversary color scheme. The limited edition has marchesini wheels, ohlins suspension, slipper clutch, etc... and goes for about $18,000.

Im sure it wont be cheap, no matter what your driving record is. I am 22 w/ no speeding tickets and I pay $700 a year. Thats JUST liability and theft, no coverage!!!! With full coverage I would have paid around $3500 a year. To me paying that much seems kind of pointless, because after 3 years you basically paid off your bike. So thats why i went the cheaper route and just went w/ liability & theft. I have my fingers crossed that i dont dump it!

I am 6'5". Any taller and I would look like a fool on a jap sport bike (or maybe i already do ).
