any one of you want to tell me the best way to prevent rock chip on the back door <both of them>. I have tarmac black and got a few rockchip on the back doors

Clear bra.

 

Don't drive or clear bra.

 

That area just loves to get some and chip away. I look at it as a minor flaw. Anyway +2 on clear bra.

 

mits sells the little plastic "clear bra" covers for the rear door jambs...i think everyone gets rock chips there...they are cheap, only like $15 i think...if you do a search, you can find the part number

 

yeah clear bra, but i think its pretty expensive if u clear bra the whole car

 

if you don't have mudflaps.... get mudflaps and maybe get a custom clear bra for the sides/doors

 

But what about if that area is already chipped to hell? Wouldn't you have to get it repainted first?

 

well of course...that is pretty obvious...i thought this was asking what to do to prevent it from continuing to happen

 

That's what I thought, just wanted to make sure. My hood is about in the same shape as that area...

 

I have chips on the a back fender at the base by the back of the back door. I have the clear protectors from Mitsu but I need to fill in the chips with the touch-up paint first. I have a clear bra on the front of my car and it is awesome. I also have chips on the back door. The clear protectors wont do **** to stop those. I just need to get really good with the touch up paint....

 

they have pre-cut 3M clear-bras for the evo that will cover your entire front end and part of the hood and mirrors...my car is already too bad to have it done now...but i plan to have it installed when the car gets repainted - whenever that may be

i think someone on the board said something about a spray on clear-bra that 3M has now, but i dont know for certain about that

 

Yeah I also have a bunch in the doors... Damn wide tires...

get a clear bra or just get some touch up paint and call yourself picasso
