what kind of headlamps did the right hand drive european evo's come with? as far as I understand europe has a different light spec and the USDM DOT lamps wouldn't pass and definately wouldn't pass with JDM lamps setup for left hand drive.

the next question would be, did their MR's come with blacked out lights like the JDM MR or chrome?

the whole purpose is to find out if there would be a right hand drive light beam pattern where the lights are blacked out. (I guess evo 9 would be an option but the flat black is definately nicer and yes, I know that evodave can do them as well but a factory solution would be cool)

 

the mr had blackedout headlights, as for the rhd light beam pattern you can just readjust it so they work leagaly with your evo

 

either way..UKDM/JDM EVo's I've seen a cleared w/ the Bottom amber strip.

NorrisDesigns evo has them if you find a pic of that car.

Mr's I would imagine are the same as JDM.

 

STi_this: as far as I understand, the adjustments on the JDM MR housings are not sufficient to move the beam pattern to a LHD pattern. (pretty much every vendor has indicated this)

hi guys.hope to come up with pictures of my mr soon...
anyway our mr`s lights (as all euro 9`s) come with dark chrome like housings, quite similar to jdm blacked out, but kinda shiny. would be something special in the us...
the tailights are the same as jdm mr (black) but have clear return lences on the one side and red fog lences and the other side.

searching for other differencies.....
oh, yep all our 9`s are mr bodys.there is a "sport package" that has bbs mr wheels and bilstein as well as the big spoiler.
normal nines are the same but with enkeis and normal shocks and springs and come with the small spoiler.

... and all 9`s come with jdm rear bumper and without whippers in the back as well as super ayc.

ya, i'm more interested in the EVO 8 ones. (flat black rather than black chrome)

what i was hoping is that the european evo 8's had headlights with flat black background and a beam pattern for LHD. (rather than the jdm EVO 8 MR lights which are setup for RHD)

 

They have been doing theese lighting changes for years, I remember sporting some awesome Galant VR4 headlights for a galant vr4 that were from austrailia..Different housing style and they had CITY lights that the jdm lights didn't have.

 

seems we evoboys have a head/taillight fetish. id rather bake the us ones and paint em flat black and keep the clear signals !!then spend nother hundreds on 8 mr`s. in continental europe clean means no amber light signal (if any indicators at all) its common we want yours you want ours :-)
