Car Sports Bras and EVO IXs

Ok, I give up trying to search on this one, I keep getting this error:

"Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 35 bytes) in /home/emedia/public_html/forums/search.php on line 1024"

Long story short, I live in New Mexico, where my hood, like everyone elses here, continues to take rock damage on the leading edge every day. My car (Tarmac Black) with a whopping 8,000 miles has a hood that looks a few years old. There is little point in repainting it since it will just take the same damage again, and I've read the CF hoods are actually heavier. I drive 80 miles a day on my work commute, so I'm not going to repeatedly put cash into hoods/paint..

I have seen a few EVOs with the Sports Bras in pictures on the web, the ones that just cover the leading edge of the hood only, but I can't seem to find them on the web for sale. I absolutely love the magnetic ones too, but can't find those either. Does anyone on here have one and would you mind pointing me in the right direction?

Don't bother with any of it, get the 3M paint protection film. I had the front of my car covered with it. Looks great, not very noticeable and protects the front end extremely well.

Where in NM are you? I know of a good installer in ABQ.

The problem is the hood is already torn up.. If I use a clear solution, all I am doing is shielding an already ugly hood edge. I was kinda hoping to mask it for the moment, until I decide what my long term plans are with the car.

I am just outside of ABQ btw.

the is a website called magnetbra.com or something like that do a google. I think they only have a model for the regular lancer could call them and ask wouldn't hurt to try. I have the 3m clear bra on mine that is the best solution but you do have to do it when the car is new and unmolested.

why not try touching up the bad spots with some touch up paint, and then throwing on a clear bra or the regular black one.

I am also looking for a hood bra for my IX. I've called every manufacturer I know and no one has the hood bra yet. I do see some for the 03-05 EVOs available but I am still unsure if the hood is the same as the 06 IXs. If anyone could verify this it would be great. The only ones available are the OEM full bra.

Shoot, at this point I'd be willing to pay a little extra for a full bra and then just use the hood piece! Where did you find the full OEM ones at?

Dont think you are going to find any magnetic ones that stay on the aluminum hood.
