window tint please help

ok i went to a shop and got some pricing. 165.00 for all the windows but they only have 5%, 15%, 20%, 30%, 35%. i want 25%

so i went to another shop and they had 25% but there price was 255.00

so im going to go with the 20 or 30% but id like to see some pics of each. so can you guys post up some nice pic's of your tint and if you got a close up as well.

or do you think i should shop around a lil longer.

i dont want to go to dark and i dont want to light eather. i thought 25% would be perfect for me. i hate deciding.

Price isn't everything...

I've never seen a price as low as $165 for the tinting, so I'd wonder what quality tint etc is on it.

Someone told me that the factory glass has 3% on it, so it will make it seem a bit darker. I went with 35% max legal limit and it's awesome. I paid $245 for all windows as well as a banner. All the reputable shops that I've talked to have the same range.

i watched the guy do it. he has a computer program that cuts it for him. then he puts it on. i watch everyone that i may have work on my car to see how well there work is. i saw him do a mazda 3 and a 300c and bouth came out great.

the other guy did it by hand and seems choppy in a few spots. this was the 255.00 price guy

Sounds pretty good then... I'd just double check on the type of tint he's using that's all.

I've seen computer cut, it's not bad. The person I got to do mine did it all by hand, but he has more than 30 yrs experience. He made it look so easy, and I almost have no gap at the edge of the tint.

Llumar is good film. I've got 20% on my Evo and I like it. Sorry, these are the only pics I could find.

The color of the car plays a big part too. If you have a black car the lighter tints won't look as good since it will look a lot lighter than your car. I have a black evo and I put 20% on it and it looks good... not too dark, but not too light. It also matters how much light is coming in your car as to how dark it looks. If I open my sunroof it looks like I have 35% tint because you can see through it better.

It's all personal preference though. I just prefer people not to be able to see through my windows very much.

I would make sure you go to a place that uses 3M window tint. It lasts longer, looks better, and has a great warranty.

Check the official yellow evo thread and look at some different evos... you're bound to see some with lighter tint and some with darker tint. Maybe you could get a better idea of what you'd like.

i got my car done at a local car audio/tinting shop. 35% all the way around for $75 with a lifetime warranty and the car looks great (apex silver) not too dark, not too light.
