Thanks for the info, I have been thinking about taking those bulb covers off for a while now, the stock dash lighting is just a bit dimmer than I would prefer it to be. This seems like the answer.

Question for you: How did removing the bulb covers affect the color of the lighting?

Thanks

Jeller

in short, I did this as well...minus coloring the bulb part, I just took the plastic cover off the bulbs and man, they looks awesome!

Also, it turns more orange than red. It is not bothersome at all. However, I couldn't stop looking at it afterwards and couldn't keep my eyes on the road....it looks super awesome after looking stock for 2 years! this is a must!

Thank you someone else who has done this and knows what im talking about..

After far as taking the boots off if there the blue cover take a razor and cut it in half and just Peel off, comes off real easy.

If they are white your gonna have to have a razor and scrape it all off, its really easy and worth it.

I replaced the bulbs in my climate control with red LED's so they're now nice and red. I should change out the bulbs in my cluster too since they're still kinda orange compared to my center console.

Nice find, I have been wondering on how to fix this since the car was new. I have always hated how dim the factory gauges are!
