Alright guys, thanks for all the compliments...
I don't know why I had been saving as gif's... however, I re-saved all the pics as jpg's, and then edited the post... so they are all jpg's now.

The pics look raw and from a computer game partially because they are saved as GIF files. GIF files have a maximum of 256 different colours, and the file sizes tend to be huge for photos. Is there any reason you didn't save them as JPEGs?
