point taken, but yeah it's still pretty cool with stuff you can do yourself though. if it's a free and not time consuming mod, why not right?

Kind of like Mad Max did with his car, ya know?

The installation of this piece would be very straightforward. All you are doing is removing the starter from the key cylinder...and attaching it to the cig lighter. By pressing the cig lighter you are providing power to the starter. The center of the cig lighter never touches the center of the hole unless you press it. You have two connections on the cig lighter. One is usually ground and one is power. The cig always touches the case, so you would replace the ground with the wire coming from the starter. Then youw would connect a fused 12v source to the bottom/center connection.

One thing you want to be sure is to fuse both wires right at the cig lighter, and to also use at least 10 gauge wire as these wires are high current wires....

Enjoy...its no fake...

Good idea btw...I might just do this

Very true. But the females love it when they can start your car just by pushing a button.

it would suck if A passenger reached over to press your cig lighter to light a cig.

imagine going 60mph and the starter engages. HOLY CRAP

well...like in the video...it looked like he pushed a button on top of the steering wheel to turn it off...I'm sure there is some kinda mechanical issues such as if the car is running it would be like a dead button of some sort...which to turn it on, it would have to have the key in the on position running off the battery.

I would ask my dad since he works on mercedes all day and he has issues with start buttons on htem, but he just went to bed.

but thats my opionion.
