You still need the key in the ignition for the secuity code in the chip.

i was also wondering if the key will still start it (as in could you just leave the key in there since pretty much nobody would figure out to start your car with the lighter - unless the theif was a smoker).

That is very cool. Could we get a little write up please?

Also, if someone hit the lighter while the car is running, wouldn't the starter get power and grind like it would if you tried to turn your car on with the key when it was running?

Bump for the question about turning the car on with only the key too.

Yeah a write up would kick a$$. I'm curious also if it disables the starter on the ignition. Like can u start it from either the lighter or the key now?

still need the key to start the car, its a safety precaution, no way to bypass that.

Uhm, yea we all know this....

We want to know if you can still start the car by turning the key over and also want to know if there is some safety feature to keep from grinding the starter if you lean on the lighter.

(edit: I see that you can start the car turning the key....but the other question?)
