Possible JDM IX crash bar fab

Ok, I made a post the other day about how my JDM IX bumper came in, asking about the color. Well, talking with the guys at auto works ( which is the raddest bunch of guys here in Jax, NC) In talk with them, they are going to do their best to alter my stock crash bar in a way so they can duplicate the process easily enough to do it multiple times ( I let them know I would ask here to see if anyone else would be interested.)

They've worked on my cars before and they are awsome. If anyone is interested, let me know. This isn't a group buy or anything, just an inquery so I can let them know ( they are going to fab one up for me regardless, whether they take the time to make it a more convenient process, IE cheaper for the consumer, is up to how many will want one.) Let me know, thanks

Get them to package a modified crash beam with repainted bumpers for special colors like Blue By You and Graphite Grey, you'll have a hit for sure...

Oh I would ( mines graphite grey and that would have made things ideal) The thing is even gruppe-s and all their coolness still runs out of bumpers and such, and it'll take time to get here, then time to get to you, it would be much easiler just to have the crash beam available to send out. If I can get these for a good price, I'll deffinately be offering them on here.

I'll take one assuming the price isn't nutty. Find out if they going to need our original pieces in advance, time estimate, and price.

That was the only thing holding me back from purchasing the bumper.
Very interested.

Hey guys the fabbed rebar is a great idea and its nice to see a shop step up to make one, I really can not see them being that hard to fab. Not to rain on anyones parade, but I wanted to offer my knowledge as a painter real quick. The pre painted bumpers sounds like a good deal, but here is the catch. They will not match in any way to your existing paint. To get the right on color match your quarters would HAVE to be blended. The colors will be close but not right on. Its just the nature of the business. If you mixed the same color on the same puter and scales at the same time, one would be a lil bit different then the other. This is not something I am guessing this is something I KNOW for sure. But the fabbed rebar is a great idea.

Later Josh

in all honesty, i don't suspect all body shops will modify the OEM crash beam.

my shop didn't when i had the rear installed.
