Possible JDM IX crash bar fab
Anyone around Maryland that is looking for the crash bar fab my dads shop does it. It is called straightline auto body. We have done two in the last month.Too my own and to another member on evom from DC. The work is great and very close to oem specs. so you are still fully protected. We favricate the crashbar. Change over all the brackets from your stock bumper to the jdm one and fabricate the brackets and tag mounts and lights. And than install the bumper. If anyone wants more info and is looking for it to be done hit me up with a PM.
Heres a picture of the two bumpers so far.

Anyone know a great place to get the rear crash bar reworked and at the same time rework my fully SS HKS 30th cat back? I live in south central PA but will travel a bit if someone convinces me it is worth it.
Thanks!

well you take a hit with one and without one and im sure its going to help....i would rather have some protection either way. insurance will look at that as well to get out of paying you, so i hope you dont have one and just pray nothing happens to the rear.
people on some of these forums I just dont understand.

The JDM bumper support, yes it's not a "crash bar", is smaller than the US bumper support.
In the US bumpers need to absorb impact up to 5mph.
In Japan bumpers need to absorb impact up to 3mph.
That is why the JDM versions are smaller, nothing to do with your safety in crashes above that speed.
As far as insurance goes.. what makes you think an insurance company will allow you to have a JDM bumper support? Unless its tested and approved for use on US roads, you'll get the same result with the insurance company.
Besides that, in every accident I've been in, I've taken the car where I wanted to, there is a law about that, instead of where the insurance company wanted me to go. In every case I've never once had an adjuster physically look at my car.
If your worried about dying backin into your garbage cans, by all means waste your money. But don't think this option is any more accepted by insurance companies than nothing at all.

I appologize for it being the middle of the week before I got new info, but here are some quick shots of my camera from the progress:

rear view

top view(sorry, shadow)

And here are the brackets removed:

This is completely bolt on and removable, and will resist impact just like stock ( and a guarantee this fits like stock, pictures will come soon of my install.) Now I don't know how many of you have the stock crash bar still, but I got a basic price of around 350 or so including a new crash beam(Not sure of price if you send yours in to be modified.). I will ask more about it when my car is done.
PM me if interested so I know how many to initially plan to make( this may with the price).
