Last night i was putting my bumper back on and accidentally i scratched the headlight. Is this reparable? Has anyone had this happen to them too?

How bad did you scratch it? I have seen plastic parts buffed and semi repaired, but depending on how bad its scratched its hard to say. I will say this though, everytime I have seen anyone try to buff a scratch out of a part like a headlight, it yielded marginal improvement.

I actually made mine hazzier/worse by trying to lightly sand it, and decided to just live with it.

You have to buy a new one to fix it!! Plastic is a biotch to polish, dont wet sand!

If you were local I could do it for you. All you need to do is use a 2000+ grit and sand until the scratch is gone. After you need to hi-speed buff it until its back to normal shine. It has to be a wool pad, because the foam pad will burn the plastic easily.

Take it to a VERY reputable detail shop, OR someone who is SURE they can buff it out.

May I add this thread is worthless without pics?

You need proper grit sand paper to sand it down. It will take alot of time and practice to make them perfect.

I agree wet sanding and high speed buffing is the way to go. I had some pretty bad scratches on my se-r's headlights and wet sanding and buffing worked great. Also when your buffing it use the 3m plastic polish/scratch remover, this works very well. It comes in a pretty small bottle and its like a tan color. Good luck btw, but if you dont know what your doing take it to a shop.

I got 2000 grit, but we need a high speed, variable speed polisher with a wool pad.
