Just got CF hood.

Sorry for bad pics, I just took them, don't feel like pulling it out of the garage. I left the vent silver, I like it, I feel it accentuates the silver emblem on the front of the car. I noticed when I got the hood, the corners were slightly chipped. It's not noticeable unless you really look close. It doesn't bother me, and damage is inveitable, I think. But tell me if you guys think its really bad.

Looks good, but not really a fan of that screen door on your hood. Should go with the stock hood grill and see if you can get that silver.

I hope you got a discount if the corners came like that... otherwise it would go back for a perfect one.

No weight savings with that hood - it's just for looks.

I got the hood for $500 even shipped from california. That's a long ways. But most places are charging 600 plus shipping. So I don't mind. Warrtalon is right, it's like .5 lbs heavier. But the stock one FEELs heavier. Possibly because of the material its made of. I think the carbon distributes the weight better. People say it doesn't hold heat in as much.

I have the same setup. VIS OEM style CF hood on TB 03. I like it. It looks awwesome in person. It draws a lot of attention. But at the track I have been bumped up a class for having CF body panels and it does weigh more than the stock hood.

Lol...that sucks that you got bumped up. Did you tell them your stock one weighs less and you should be bumped down now? Nice hood though, I think ill just keep my stock one on my RR 03, it just draws way too much attention. I dont want to go through getting another car stolen.

i think i would paint the mesh black to keep it more simpler looking you know give it the black/bronze look instead of the black/bronze/silver and i would paint the mitsu emblem in the front black along with the emblems on the back!

I painted my mesh black with high temp gloss black paint. Some brake caliper paint if I remember correctly. But I dont have any pics that you can see. But it looks much better.

VHT Gloss black
