Back bumper getting burned becasue of catback...
Its gotten really bad now, I'm sure its to late to do anything about ot fix it, but is there anything i can do prevent it from getting worse? I was told by a body shop to have the exhaust pushed out a little more, will this resolve my issue and how do i go about this?
I've seen the exhaust shields for the EVO 8's, are they the same for the IX's?

for usdm rear bumpers there is no difference between the VIII's and IX's. so a cf heatshield designed for the usdm VIII rear bumper will fit ur car w/ absolutely no problems.

I have the metal piece.. IMHO it will work better than the CF piece since you can adjust how much it sticks out. I've seen one car with it on and the fumes still burn up the bumper.
Besides.. the metal piece you can make yourself, or buy it for like $20 shipped.

Put some tar and bug remover on it and it will clean up. Then put some tough wax like a Klasse, Collinite or Zaino in that area. You should be able to clean it with regular car wash soap from that point forward.
Might not be a viable alternative but since your catback sits in considerably, the JDM Evo 9 rear bumper will probably be a perfect fit.
Because the bumper doesn't stick out nearly as much as a USDM rear bumper, most problems with the transition to the JDM for Evo owners is getting their exhaust shortened. Yours however might be a perfect fit..

I doubt mine is carbon, its causing the bumper to look a caramel color. Its def not rubbing off. I'll try the carbon craft heatshield to see if that helps.
Is there any way to move the exhaust out some?
