i did that with the blue painters take to my car... the only reason i dont use that tape u used is cause the sticky stuff stays on ur car after u take it off.. Or the sun drys the tape and it make it hard to take it off... U should just used the blue painters take.. I hope u didnt leave it on there for a long time

People have been doing this for YEARS...but most people use painter's tape (the blue or green kind) as mentioned above because it peels off easily and doesnt leave residue behind. Regular masking tape is going to suck to take off.
I have done this on my evo for the last two years when I make a long drive...I also did it for the two years that I owned my VW

wow dude, maybe they make painter's tape in a different color that I've never seen before... But its usually blue.
And like everyone has been saying - you do NOT want to use anything else. For your sake I really hope this is white painters tape :-\

^^You would not think that its dumb when you have to spend hours cleaning bugs off of your paint, not to mention that the road is always full of dump trucks carring gravel. So I think that it was worth an hour and a half of my time. I know I could get a bra for like $150 but I'm a little tight on funds right now and the 5 bucks I spent for the tape is cheap. So flame all you want.
