Did you get the sandable primer at the auto store as well?

I can't stop looking at how good these rims look! I was going to powder coat them too .

Looks good. I did the same thing with my IX wheels. I just wish I could find some black lugnuts to fit the stock wheels. All the aftermarket black lugnuts are acorn style.

haha, thanks bro. I think powder coating is around $200, while I only spent $30. Lol, not worth it in my opinion, but yes I bought the Sandable Primer at the auto shop as well. Here is a list of what you need if you want to do this bro:

(1) 3M 800 Grit Sand Paper
(1) Dupli-Color Sandable Primer
(1) 1 pack of notecards any size
(2) Carb. Cleaner
(3) Krypton Paint (color of your choice)
(3) Dupli-Color Clear Coat

Those are the items you need, and if you would like for me to tell you the process just PM me, and i'd be more then happier to help you out!

The cure for the stock chrome lugnut situation is to take the lugnuts to a sandblasting cabinet to get the "fake chrome" off. The next step is to get your can of gloss black duplicolor paint and spritz them.

How well do you think the paint will hold up to daily use?

Thanks for all comments! I actually think they will hold up great for daily use, just you might need to clear coat it here and there once everywhile...Like once a month or something. We will see, I will notify you if anything goes wrong with mine...

I painted my IX stockers about two months ago, and they still look brand new. I used Duplicolor Wheel Paint though...and then a clear coat, but the process was pretty much the same. I used 3M painters tape instead of notecards just to make sure I wouldn't get any paint on my tires. Pics here:
