A pressure washer isn't a good idea. A few years ago I did this when I had my 2002 GTI and the pressure washer literally peeled the clearcoat off the wheels!

I would recommend using "Hot Rims," which is made by "Meguiar's," but don't leave the cleaner on the wheels for more than about 30-45 seconds, as it is acidic. You don't want to risk pitting your wheels by leaving it on too long. This stuff works like a charm.

Shine.

What really makes them shine is a set of race pads.

Wipe clean the areas exposed through the rim then roll your car to expose the rest.

I use greased lightning degreaser on mine. Works amazing. Same on teh wheels and my rear bumper from my exhaust turning my bumper black. Everything comes right off with ease.

After you wash your car, use the same soapy water and a cotton towel to clean them up. If you keep them waxed, they are a hell of a lot easier to keep clean. I wouldn't ever use a "wheel cleaner" on my wheels or calipers. It is just not necessary, and who knows what they put in there.

+4 for simple green and a little bit of elbow grease. I always wipe them with a detail spray which may help prevent the dust from building up as fast.
