I thought the evo's scoop opening was for venting hot air out not draw air in.
I guess it work for subaru then it must of work on evo as well.

They work for subarus because they have a TOP mount intercooler (TMIC), opposed to the evos FRONT mount intercooler (FMIC). The subarus have the IC ontop of the engine, evos have it infront of the radiator and fan, mounted perfectly to take air in...no need to force air in.
