no one noticed that the NSX used is not the normal NSX...this is a limited edition of the NSX called NSX-R...much faster, much lighter and much more agile...

i have seen it perform on a Best Motoring vid against some subis and evos if i remember correctly on a track...and it was actualy faster...very impressive handling...[wide wheel-base+low center of gravity = good handeling]

if you roll it off the line that is true..but if you do a power launch..at around 5k then slip the clutch and get the car going without bogging...then you will already be in boost...
i have seen gt35r'ed evos launch...and trust me..they dont know the meaning of laggyness of the line!!

 

and dude...the test Jerremy did against that Punto..is useless and pointless..because:
if you are rolling at 10mph in 5th or even 3rd...in a stock evo..and then flore it,you will experience lag like there is no tommorow.it will be like having a T88 on a 2.0..even worse...hehehe

LoL. C6 Z06 is a great car but I think people give it WAY too much credit. Definately the most over rated car in history. 10's with slicks maybe. Slick make a HUGE difference on any RWD car with alot of power. It's also considered a modification since it does not come on the car in stock form. So definately not a 10second car from the factory.

 

For a car that costs more than 80 grand? Yes its a dog IMO.

Just like dxbevo8 said, its not even a base model NSX meaning the base is actually slower than the NSX-R. Don't get me wrong, the NSX is a nice car, but for the money (buying new) it would be the very last car in the video I'd buy.

I've driven a NSX and they handle great. Its a very nice car, but it has never been a car that I've lusted for or wanted to own.

For a stock car to trap 129 mph in the 1/4 and cost less than 70K is a bargin to me. If any car in this lineup is considered overrated it would be the NSX.

There has already been one guy runing 10.8's at 129mph with DRAG RADIAL's on his STOCK Z06.........DRAG RADIALS. Sure, its takes a hell of a driver to do so, but he has shown that its a 10 second car with traction issues. Put slicks on that car and watch that time go down.

Overrated.....pshh, someone is crazy.

 

I've never ran my EVO in the 1/4, but if I had to guess it would run low 12's on pump gas. Oh yeah and it cost about 50 grand less too.....

over rated? are you sure that's what your gonna go with? The C6 Z06 is probly one the best value's out there for a performance car.

I'm convinced you don't really have a clue here... there is a HUGE differance between slicks and 2 year old BFG drag radials.

Either way this car should have easily ran 11's.

Sorry man, but I totally disagree with you. I watched that video about 10 times(no kidding and no exagerating). That video shows nothing, what I mean with that is that everyone on this world already knows that a bigger turbo is directly related to slow spool up(for the most cases and with the exemption of high displacement and variobale geometry turbos).

You can never make a fair comparisson saying that a smaller displacement Fiat Punto out accelerate a Evo 8 MR FQ400 from a roll in 6th gear. Off course, the MR taller gear ratios would negatively affect the spool up.

You don't exit a subterranean parking garage and climb the garage ramp in 5th gear right?
You don't start rolling from a green traffic light in 5th gear right?
You don't make a trip from Los Angeles to New York in first gear right?

That second part of the video shouldn't have never been released, they ruined the reputation of the car by neglecting the type of driving.

A car is designed to use the proper gears for the appropiate driving conditions, as I explained before each gear has a purpose, just as the first gear give you more force it yields speed and that goes on inverselly.

Botton line, that FQ400 MR does a 0-60 in 3.5sec and could compite with any 500-600hp car from a roll if properly driven, unfortunately as I stated before the TV host had in mind discredit the stelhar performance of the car by neglitenly driving it in the top gear at low rpms.

As much as I enjoy the BBC top gear shows, sometimes I believe they are indeed retarded. Why would you want to drive your car in 6th gear at 25mph from a roll and punching it knowing that you are harming your engine and shaking the entire dashboard anyway?
