The guy in the 911 won against the Z06 because the dude driving the 911 weighs around 85lbs.

 

The z06 ran a best of 12.1?? The Z06 has ran 10's, granted that run was done on drag radials, but they were 2 years old. It should still be deep into the 11's on the stock tires.

 

The roar of the V8 scared the japs senseless.

I have seen the video before. Everyone on this forum is asking to themselves the same question: why not to make it fair and put a FQ400 agaisnt the Z06, 911TT.

The Evo 9 did well at 12.8 but still in disavantage against a 505hp and a 460hp AWD 911 turbo.

Still goes to show you how highly thought of the Evo really is. The closest car in terms of cost is the z06 at more than twice the price. Put $40,000 into the Evo and then run em.

I think people are forgetting that the people driving are not pro-drag racers hence some of the times on the vehicles are not what they should be and they're not consistant with driving the cars (i.e. missing 3rd gear). But none the less I agree that the Z06 should've been faster.

 

do you know who those guys are? they are professional racing drivers in japan, and have many national championship titles in many disciplines of racing (JGTC, Formula Nippon, Super Taikyu, etc). those guys are pros.

 

13.0 isn't exactly what I'd call slow by all means

But yeah, I'm suprised at the outcome of those times. I expected the EVO to get the Z06 off the line, and then the Z06 play catch up, but I didn't expect the EVO to do 12.8...dang.

Drag racing only shows half of what the Evo can do...
