Real WRC EVO wing pictures
I don't want to be a dark cloud but, the reason that wing looks like that and is located where it is, is WRC rules permit the wing to be bigger if it is within X number of inches of the back glass. That is why Mitsu built that thing that way, to work as good as it can within WRC rules.
Since you are not bound by WRC rules I have no doubt you could achieve more down force and less drag with a traditional 2 element GT car style wing at the back edge of the decklid in less turbulent air and it would definitely cost less.

One thing about the WRC wing versus a standard GT type wing is center of pressure. Would you rather have your downforce in the middle of the car or at the end lightening the front tires? Of course you can run big dive plains and splitter in the front to compensate but then you have also added drag.
