Gonna tint my windows!

Been doing lots of research in the forums. So I decided to get all windows tinted except front windshield of course. Only thing is it has to be 56% or lighter for it to pass inspection according to a local auto shop(Japanese GT Auto) I called. I've never seen what 56% tint on a car looks like. Can anyone post a pic or link?

I didn't think they made a tint with an obscure percentage like 56%. There has also been discussion about tints on the forums if you want to bother searching. If not I'm sure fellow members will chime in.

ME state law is 50%.... its almost rediculous. Im tinting my windows at 35% and calling that good. 35% is a clean tint. not to dark, not to light.

From what I read you can still have dark tint on the back windows and keep the fronts untinted.

It'll block 64% of teh light.

Which is not next to nothing.

It is however a long way away from blocking 75 or 90% of the light, which is the range of tints you'll see on the back windows of many cars and SUV's.

I'll also bet the front windows come with a tint already. I was planning on doing 50% on the sides and back, front is illegal in NJ and I hate the limo back but none up front look, just looks ghetto to me.

Good point about NJ, NJ is no tint up front at all. They'll check fro teh film if they suspect and fail you. But just take it off before you go and get it redone afterwards.

I have 50% on my car and it's absolutely perfect.. I don't want to be hidden, besides dark tint on a brand new car always looks tacky. 50% connects all of the windows together with that "smoked" look, yet you can still see very clearly at night with all the windows up.

35 is legal in MD i have that with 5 on the front window. just the 8 inch strip. and that is still very light. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH YOUR STATE LAWS. my gf almost went to jail because she had 3+ repair oders for having 20% and 15% multiple times. She was facing 3 months in jail and 2k in fines plus a lawyer. Lucky her mom works for the best lawyer in MD and got her off with nothing. Goes to show stay legal!

I've never seen it either before I did it on my car.. With Wicked White, you already have so many contrasting elements (the window moldings, the headlights/taillights, the grill, hood vent, wing mid-section, etc).. that dark tint isn't necessary at all to connect the naked "real estate" of all the windows.

Haven't shot the car since i've had it done.. soon though
