Kinda stupid i think....
Once you get to your destination, you never drive the car again??
It's not because you are going to frive for 8 hours that you have more chance to get paintchips.
If you drive your car 16x for 30minutes -let's say to your work- you have driven it the same time... So you might cover it up the whole time you have it then

Why is that sad? This funny little technique is nothing new..
You slap some wax on. Have some chuckles with some friends while applying some tape. Go on your highway trip. Spend 5 minutes taking the residue-free tape off. Slap some more wax on, and enjoy your still flawless front end. At the end of the day, your bumper was protected from high speed highway ****, and is still flawless. I don't see a downside if you have a laid back approach to taping your bumper up.
I've found with previous cars that highway trips blast the bumper the most, so why not protect it and have a good time with it for less than 10 bucks?
I dont see anything sad about lightheartedly keeping something that you value in the best possible condition. I mean, the tape is a temporary thing for long highway trips, not a permanant solution to the problem, thats what clear bras are for.
