Drive Thru Car Wash

Has anyone had any issues with a drive thru car wash? Like with the spoiler or anything else on the EVO? Its pretty cold here in Jersey and i really don't want to freeze my butt off hand washing it so I'm looking for that quick alternative to get the salt off the car.

It'll be fine. Just go through a touch-free wash. Those laserwashes do a good job.

Thats good to know about the wax. There are a few touchless places around me. I'll have to try one because the salt is driving me crazy.

When weather like this hits, I always use the touchless wash. And you sort of have to get the wax if you want the under cariiage wash. I have NEVER had any issues with the touchless washes, and i don't run my hood vent either.

I would never bring my evo through a carwash. I never did with my a4 and s4. Just dont trust it. Especially with the wing.

Nothing touches the car in these. There isnt even a wheel ramp in the one I go to. It's completely safe.

Huh, interesting. Never stained any of my cars, though. Also, as someone mentioned, you're forced to get the wax if you want the undercarriage wash.

The stock wing will be fine..it doesnt stick out sideways, backwards, and doesnt go over the roof.. Theres really no way for it to get struck by anything.

If you have low profile tires and the car wash is the type that pulls your car through there is a good chance your rims will be scratched. This has happend to me before. The carwash that did it had wax rails on the tracks that pull the cars too, and it still scuffed my rims. Just something else to think about.

These are the car washes I avoid. The touchless ones should have no attendants around. The first sign of one, i'm out.
