Everything that gets painted gets primed, paint will not hold up if not primed...what we didn't do was strip down the bumper to it fiberglass...fiberglass no matter what you do will chip, its inevitable and one of the downfalls of it, it just doesn't flex like urethane does...give us a call when you get a chance and will take care of it...
Is there any after market primer that can be used to make the paint stick better.

Yea mitsu paint is pretty bad, we happen to use sikkens and if prepper properly it holds up much much better than the factory paint...its not always the chemicals that make the difference, the physical prepping of the pieces is a huge part of whether or not the paint holds up well...

I thought with how much better a NSX paint holds there had to be something that i could do. I was thinking about just getting a carbon hood and painting it red but if i could do a good prep job on the stock hood and repaint it that would be better.
I have done some painting (even house of kolor stage paints on cars) so i am not a total noob but not as good as you i am sure.
But could you do a little post about how to prep the surface to make the paint stick better.

that is next...we just did almost all the oil seals on the motor, clutch, flywheel, injectors, fuel pump, removed a bunch of stuff thats not needed and a supercharger is going on shortly...then we will have pics...
