True, the Honda crowd has praised rotas for years. They are just getting popular in the Evo world recently.

Wow take the whining elsewhere. If you don't like Rota's "designs" thats your problem.

Rota has also been very popular with the WRX/STi crowd (I think that's why Subydude is dubbed SUBYdude). Rota's are known for their durability and low price. Whether to buy the real Volks at 3 grand a set vs. the Rota's at only 900, is a legitimate debate however it should not hijack this thread.

Anyway, can they make these in a Royal Black (i mean with polished/machined lip)?

Eric

I see where some of you guys are coming from on both ends. For those that thing Rota is just some fly-by-night company making ****ty wheels, I suggest you do your research. Everyone isentitled to thier opinion, however, after reading about the many types of stringent tests that Rota does to check the quality of the wheel I dont see any reason that those who are on a budget or just want a good set of wheels for the track can't get away with it. Just my $.02!

True, but this is not imitation, its blatant copying....there's a reason there's copyright laws...

I would agree with you if they were making their own designs. Personally if I couldn't afford a real RE30, I'd wait and save, then buy them. But allowing the literal "stealing" of someone else's creative property just to make money is what's wrong with this world. But hey, there's obviously a market for it, so why not, right? Just cause there's a market for it doesn't mean its right. I hope Rota gets there comeupance.

Ok, all great and valid points. I agree with you. But they should be making their OWN designs. If they're such a great wheel company, they should be working on furthering their own designs and manufacturing processes.

I'm pretty sure the reason there is never legal action taken against any of these companies who make copies of parts is because the original companies don't actually copyright or have patents or anything for their products because that process is so expensive, and that expense would pass on to the customer and make these uber-jdm items that much more expensive.
