If you take off the entire enblem, then there will be a hole in the black grill piece.

that blows. i want it gone, but i dont want the hole. i think all black grills with no emblems are hot... but if the hole is the outcome then **** it...unless there is any way around it? ie: new mesh girll peice?

You might be able to find an extra grill piece that covers the IC from someone. Big enough to cut for the right size.

The holes are still in the grill in the pic.
Unless you get a new grill you will have holes in it.
If anyone has a link to a new grill insert please post it. I have also been looking for this for some time now.

that evo above has the split grill, haha you cant take it off. but yeah its a sick way to go for style, the holes in the grill are pretty small though, i would just use some thin black wire and solder the small gaps, its not a lot and it would only take 30 or 40 minutes. im going to do mine this weekend, ill show you some pics then.

I would be interested in a new grill insert also if anyone makes them, or is willing to make them. I painted my emblem black, but I'd rather it be off completely.

i did it this weekend, im taking pics this afternoon and ill post it. the holes in the grill arent that bad, you can only see them from a few feet away, and at night its impossible, its nice though- im still going to try to find a new grill though.

I bought my Evo a month ago(evo 8) and it's missing several of the mesh inserts on the bumper(not the intercooler one thank god). The mesh parts from Mitsu are gonna come to $200 so F that. I think I'm going to get some mesh wire at Home Depot or something, paint it black and cut to fit. Good plan? Suggestions? Sorry to hijack.
